We champion books by BIPOC and LGBTQQIP2SAA marginalized writers as well as books discussing political issues of the times.
Books we have read so far include:
The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (UPCOMING) October 30th at 7pm / RSVP on our Facebook Page to join in – https://www.facebook.com/events/1444071725630484/
Birdie by Tracey Lindberg
The Illegal by Lawrence Hill
The Right to Be Cold by Sheila Watt-Cloutier
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
God in Pink by Hasan Namir
Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay
We have a potluck or picnic as well that includes food that everyone can eat, gluten free, vegan etc. If you have any dietary concerns, please let us know so that we can ensure that there are some dishes for you too! We try to accommodate everyone!
Most times we also have the Book Club Set from the VPL, so if you need to borrow this month’s book, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for pick up.
We are also on Meetup, if you are not a Facebook person. Our Meetup group is here – https://www.meetup.com/The-Dominion-Book-Club-Meetup-at-ICOAAT/
